Adult Classes

“We announce the message about Christ, and we use all our wisdom to warn and teach everyone, so that all of Christ's followers will grow and become mature.”

~ Colossians 1:28 (CEV)

Bible study is a vital part of growing in Christ and also serves to help us make those connections with others who can share the journey of following after Jesus. There are a variety of ways to pursue this part of your relationship with God but two main venues exist here at CCC.

Sunday AM Studies

These meet during the 2nd and 3rd hours and cover a variety of study topics. While each of our classes is taught by solid, competent teachers, they all have their own personality and atmoshphere because of the teacher and those who make up the class. So when you decide to get involved be sure to visit several different classes before deciding which one is right for you. Study topics are listed in the Sunday AM program.

Elective Studies

These meet at various times and days during the week usually during the Fall season after school starts and during the Winter season after the first of the year. The best way to stay up on what studies are happening when is to watch for announcements in the Sunday program or slides.

Children's Ministry

Centerville Christian Church provides a consistently loving and safe environment for children. We strive to work hand in hand with parents to teach each child that God loves them and desires a life long relationship with them.

Truths of God’s Word are presented weekly in creative ways using story telling, music, learning centers, crafts, and even games. We understand that every moment can be a teachable one and we make the most of every moment we have with children.

Each Sunday, age appropriate learning is available for 2 years – 5th grade. An infant and toddler nursery is available as well where the littlest ones can play, cuddle, and rest. Our volunteers understand it is important for parents to know that their children are safe and secure. That’s why all our volunteers have willingly agreed to background checks and have been trained for their areas prior to serving. Pagers and tokens allow for extra security in our children’s areas. This allows parents to be able to focus on their own growth and learning each Sunday.

We welcome all families to partner with us as we connect kids with Christ, grow kids in a personal relationship with Jesus, and equip them to go into the world and make a difference for Christ.

Small Groups

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship…All the believers were together and had everything in common…Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” ~ Acts 2:42, 44, 46

God never intended us to travel through life alone on this adventure of following Him. There are countless advantages to sharing a journey with others and there are over 50 direct statements in Scripture about how we are to support and encourage one another along the way. Being part of a small group allows us to build those relationships that God wants to use as He continues to grow us and mature us to be like Jesus in how we live life and love others.

There are a variety of types of groups. Some focus heavily on Bible Study and fellowship while others exist to be part of a service group. Some groups form to offer support and encouragement to one another in dealing with a particular struggle such as dealing with financial debt or divorce or substance abuse. Some groups get together because of a common interest or hobby or activity.

Along with various reasons for meeting groups get together at various times. Some meet once a week while others meet once every other week or once a month. Childcare is sometimes involved and is handled by each group as necessary.

Volunteering

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
~ Ephesians 4:11-13, 16

Being part of God’s kingdom and family is NOT a spectator sport but a full participation in the work that He intends for us to engage in. There are no unnecessary or unimportant people within God’s kingdom or church family. There are lots of differing gifts as some are very visible and some are not so visible, but all are vital to what God wants to accomplish through us.

An important part of knowing where to serve is understanding how God has gifted and prepared you through various life experiences. We can help you discern what your gifts are and where you might fit best in contributing to God’s work here at CCC. To find out ministry opportunities you can check out the Ministry Opportunities bulletin board in the foyer, check out the monthly newsletter, watch the Sunday program and slides or talk with someone on staff.
